Island H2O Live! Water Park in Orlando

Disclosure: I was invited to attend the grand opening event.

I had the best first day of summer celebrating the newest water park in central Florida! Island H2O Live! is themed to the digital age focusing on tech integration with cute winks at social media throughout the park. They fully committed with attraction names like Follow Me Falls and Hashtag Heights. You wear a wristband around that you can tap at attractions for points giving it a game vibe. There’s actually a whole Island H2O Live! app and you can get videos of yourself on attractions and such. Island H2O Live! is located just a few minutes from Walt Disney World and is reasonably priced with tickets at $49.99 for adults. I enjoyed it so much I’m actually considering the annual pass for myself.

If you like to go to waterparks and disconnect from your phone you can totally do that here too. I just love being outside and living in the moment exploring new places like this. I’m not much of a thrill seeker these days, as I continue to heal from my neck injury, but I was able to enjoy some of the gentler water slides. My favorite, and one I think anyone can enjoy, is The Downloader. It’s the navy blue and mint slide pictured above here and it was so smooth! Just a real easy ride, perfect for scaredy cats and people who don’t want to be jerked around. I rode in a double tube with my husband. Another fun one is the group raft ride Profile Plunge that goes through a rainbow tunnel. So dreamy!

I loved these but I spent most of my day in the lazy river also known as Chat Creek at Island H2O Live!. Water slides are great but I really enjoy floating along under palm trees and water features at a water park. The wave pool, Live! Lagoon, was a fun place to be and I think the kids will love the colorful water playgrounds here. If you’re new to water parks some of these Disney water park tips apply here too.

Vegan Food at Island H20 Live!

I was ready to just eat a side of fries for lunch thinking there may not be any vegan options. Then I saw the beautiful words vegan options available upon request on the bottom of the Apps and Eats menu. I would totally eat the vegan pizza with cauliflower crust again and the fries were good too. Also, the rainbow Dippin’ Dots are vegan!
