Toy Story 4 Review

Disclosure: I was invited to an advanced screening of this film.

Since 1995 we’ve been following Andy’s little toys on big adventures. Over the years we’ve seen them grow up just as much as their kids. They’re Bonnie’s toys as of Toy Story 3 but.. they’ll always kind of be Andy’s right? Toy Story 4 brings back our favorites in a unique story rich in comedy and feelings. Will you cry? Maybe. It is a Pixar movie after all. However, you’ll laugh much more than you tear up. This may be the funniest of the four.

TOY STORY 4

Forky and Woody in Toy Story 4

Woody has always been my favorite of the bunch. Toy Story 4 made me love him even more. Loyalty is really important to me and it’s a special theme in all of the Toy Story movies. Coincidence or did Disney teach me some things as a kid? Hmm. I think Woody has always been an amazing leader of this playful group and he displays it best here. Another excellent theme in Toy Story 4 is listening to your inner voice. I really enjoyed seeing Woody, Buzz, Bo Peep and, our new friend, Forky, learn about themselves through challenges.

Randy Newman is back again on music for the movie and has a new song. What stands out drastically is how much the Toy Story movies have changed visually over time. Toy Story 4 looks incredible. The shading, lights and color palettes are absolute eye candy.

Toy Story 4 is in theaters June 21st, 2019. I think it will be the movie of the summer. I’m always asked if new Disney movies are worth seeing in the theater. Toy Story 4 is definitely worthy of being seen on the big screen. I’d love to know your thoughts when you see it! Find me on Twitter and Instagram as @SparklyNicole to chat about it.
