My summer started with a weekend stay at the Caribe Royale Orlando. This hotel near Disney World is undergoing a massive renovation and the one bedroom king suite I stayed in was all new and done in a refreshing color palette. I also fondly remember the walk in shower with a selection of shower heads including an overhead, waterfall option.
The Caribe Royale is located just off of Walt Disney World property and offers bookable complimentary transportation to the destination. The price range for rooms is somewhere in between a Value and Moderate Disney resort depending on the size. However, if you like extra space in your hotel room or the ability to close a door for some privacy within your travel party the value is in these suites.

When it comes to amenities, the Caribe Royale rivals some of Walt Disney World’s Deluxe tier resorts. You’ll find a variety of restaurants including a fancier sit down, a pool you’ll want to visit and, though not operating on our visit, a spa.
Caribe Royale Orlando Waterfall Pool and Grotto
Let’s talk about this pool. What intrigued me about this property from the start was the eye catching entrance with water features. This is like a pre-show for the tropical blue pool that hosts a waterfall and the delightful sound that comes with it. Just around the corner is a pool slide that’s exciting enough for the whole fam.
When I’m on vacation I also like to actually, ya know, relax and a tropical setting always sets a good vibe. The lush landscaping and location, nestled in the middle of the resort’s towering pink buildings, make the pool at Caribe Royale a fabulous escape. In that area guests can also enjoy the open air restaurant Calypso’s. This is another highlight of my visit. We went back and back again for fruity drinks, chips and guac and a simple plant based burger and fries cooked just right.
