Disclosure: I was invited to an event to preview Epcot International Festival of the Holidays.
Epcot always has something fun happening and for Christmas time it’s the Epcot International Festival of the Holidays. November 29th through December 30th you can enjoy special entertainment, food, merchandise and more all around the park. These festivities are included with admission. Let’s look at some of my favorite things to see and do.
Epcot Christmas Food Booths
For the festival, Epcot has holiday kitchens all around World Showcase. These food booths offer special culinary selections to celebrate the holidays! Turkey, hot chocolate, pie, latkes; whatever you like to eat this time of year, Epcot has it! I got to try the Gluhwein from the Bavaria Holiday kitchen. It’s a delicious hot spiced wine and I loved it!
Christmas Entertainment at Epcot
The highlight of the season is the added entertainment. You can meet Disney characters in their winter wear like Belle pictured here. Around World Showcase you’ll find outdoor shows about holiday traditions in the countries. The star on the tree is the Candlelight Processional. This massive stage production tells the story of Christmas with a beautiful choir, live orchestra and celebrity narrator. It’s quite the show and very heart warming. It’s popular so to make sure you get a decent seat, or any seat, you may want to consider the dining package that includes reserved seating. This year’s narrator list:
- Ming-Na Wen – 11/29-12/1
- Neil Patrick Harris – 12/2-12/5
- Whoopi Goldberg – 12/6-12/7
- Isabella Rossellini – 12/8-12/10
- Chita Rivera – 12/11-12/12
- Gary Sinise – 12/13-12/15
- Pat Sajak – 12/16-12/18
- Warwick Davis – 12/19-12/21
- Steven Curtis Chapman – 12/22-12/24
- Edward James Olmos – 12/25-12/26
- Marlee Matlin – 12/27-12/28
- Lisa Ling – 12/29-12/30
Living with the Land Christmas Overlay
New this year is a Christmas light display at the Living with the Land boat ride attraction. You can find this ride near Soarin’ and cruise through a serene setting decorated with lights. Living with the Land: Merry and Bright Nights happens every evening. I hope this continues and grows each year!
