Fall brings a lot of seasonal excitement like pumpkin spice lattes, cooler weather and, of course, magical Halloween offerings at Walt Disney World. I started attending Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party many years ago before I had an annual pass. It became an autumnal staple for me. I really enjoy dressing up or getting festive and trick or treating at Magic Kingdom. Mickey’s Boo-to-You Halloween Parade music is stuck in my head all season long. The Happy HalloWishes fireworks really just say Halloween to me. This year the party has a few brand new offerings that are really exciting! Let’s talk about what’s new at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party in 2018.

New at Mickey’s Halloween Party 2018

Pirates invade the Pirates of the Caribbean queue and attraction in search of Gunpowder Pete. Just like the party, this enhancement is not-so-scary and fun for families. This is so well done and an exciting addition without altering the charm of the attraction.

The Mad Tea Party takes guests on an extra colorful spin. Special lighting and effects are added for these events. It was neat to see this even just as someone walking by.

Space Mountain is completely dark with a new soundtrack for an extra thrill. No stars to see here! I love that this classic is slightly transformed and offers a new way to ride.

Storybook Circus hosts the Storybook Circus Disney Junior Jam dance party featuring Disney Junior Characters.

If you haven’t been to the party in a few years then the Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular will be another new addition. I recommend going to the final show of the night to make the most of your experience. If you like the movie you’ll love seeing the Sanderson Sisters spooking about on the stage in front of Cinderella Castle. You can expect to see some celebrated Disney Villains as well. Even if you don’t get a spot up front or stay for the whole show, check out the castle while this is going on. It’s a magical, spooky, visual delight.

These experiences are only available at the Halloween Party. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party requires a special ticket. For Pirates of the Caribbean, the queue closed at the end of the regular park day then reopened for the party. I imagine the other two attractions are the same.
