Avengers: Endgame Review

The grave course of events set in motion by Thanos that wiped out half the universe and fractured the Avengers ranks compels the remaining Avengers to take one final stand in Marvel Studios’ grand conclusion to twenty-two films, “Avengers: Endgame.”

Somewhere in a box of beloved momentos rests my Iron Man ticket stub from May 2008. Since then we’ve been on an incredible ride of title character origin stories, daring sequels and ultimate displays of teamwork as the Avengers assemble. Avengers: Endgame is far from the end of Marvel movies, we even have another Spider-Man film coming this year, but it is the end of Marvel movies as we know them. Gasp. Sigh. Sob. I’m not ready.

Avengers: Endgame Review Tony Stark

We’ve all been waiting patiently since last year’s Avengers: Infinity War to find out what happens after Thanos’ devastating Infinity Gauntlet finger snap. Avengers: Endgame delivers all the answers and an exciting amount more. Marvel movies have been particularly impressive in their ability to have such different tones while all contributing to building one story. The tone of Avengers: Endgame is post apocalyptic and it’s perfectly paced. Every minute of this film mattered in the best way without being overwhelming.

Avengers: Endgame Review Captain America

The snap left us with fewer Avengers to pool their strengths but there is still an amazing display of team members using their abilities to do incredible things together. Another theme that really hit home in Avengers: Endgame is the importance of mental health and supporting each other. Super heroes are not immune to feelings. Apparently neither am I because I laughed throughout the movie but also cried four times seeing this film then again an hour later. Perhaps go easy on the eyeliner for this one?

The Avengers: Endgame release date is April 26th, 2019.
