Disclosure: I was invited by Disney to attend a special event showcasing this wedding and other Disney’s Fairy Tale Wedding options.
As Prince Harry and Meghan Markle prepare for their special day, Disney decided to have a royal wedding of their own. A deserving couple was surprised with one of the dreamiest weddings to ever happen. I felt like Cinderella getting her chance to go to the ball when I got an invitation to attend. Imagine a fantastical ceremony right in front of Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom. It was every bit as magical as it sounds.
This wedding at Magic Kingdom is one of my most treasured memories. Alexis and Jay experienced extremed hardship on their journey and had to put their wedding plans on hold after devastation from hurricane Harvey. Celebrating their rainbow shining through and attending my first Disney’s Fairy Tale Wedding just filled my heart.
When I walked into Magic Kingdom I saw the sun waking up the park with its golden light. The castle had that morning glow and everything was pristine and quiet. There was an extra layer of excitement with the Good Morning America camera crew and Disney Cast Members making t.v. magic happen. I also got to see a little showcase of Disney’s Fairy Tale Wedding merchandise. The real shining jewel was the elegant simplicity of the wedding decor.
I got to see the bride, Alexis, grace the park with her presence as she floated by in Cinderella’s carriage. What a sight. This was a kingdom and she was a princess. Her gown glistened as the clack of pony steps whisked her to her groom. As she picked up her dress in preparation for the next step of her life, I saw a little cross tattoo on her foot. I thought about the tremendous feelings she must have had at that very moment and said a little prayer for peace.
The aisle was white and surrounded by beautiful white flowers inspired by the neutrals anticipated at the royal wedding. Guests dawned fascinators and 7 million people watched as Alexis walked to Jay. In a short ceremony they were married and whimsical confetti danced over their heads during their first kiss as husband and wife.
I’m still just floating like Aurora and Phillip dancing on a cloud when I think about it all.
This was the first wedding to be broadcast on national television live from Walt Disney World! You can watch the magic here. I’m in the back row on the aisle on the groom’s side. Peep the sweet, Cinderella blue fascinator Disney gave me.
While some details of this wedding were put together just for this couple, you actually can have a wedding at Magic Kingdom! Learn more about Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings & Honeymoons by visiting DisneyWeddings.com or calling 321-939-4610.
