I partnered with Disney to bring you this post.
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is a glittering assemblage of magic, decorations, characters, and Christmas cheer. There’s nothing like Christmas music and snow on Main Street, U.S.A. and Holiday Wishes Fireworks is my absolute favorite. The event takes place from 7:00 p.m to 12:00 a.m. on select nights. Just five precious hours of merry magic and it goes by so fast. Guests with a ticket to Very Merry can get into Magic Kingdom Park at 4:00 p.m. but you’ll still want to make the most of your time. Here are some time saving tips to help you fit the most magic into your night.
Pick a strategic viewing spot
I knew we wanted to watch Holiday Wishes Fireworks at 10:15 p.m. and the second Once Upon a Christmastime Parade at 11:00 p.m. My favorite place to watch the fireworks at Magic Kingdom is a little bit behind the hub. We watched from here knowing we would gravitate to the nearest curb to sit for the parade immediately after when the crowd dispersed. If you want to do this, don’t hesitate. I was pleasantly surprised when the Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration castle stage show started and we had a little view of the stage. The whole castle lights up and the music is all around the area so it felt like we had entertainment while waiting for.. entertainment. If you do even just a little planning up front you can do less figuring out at the event while experiencing more.
Line up for characters earlier than you’d think
I have a friend who got in line for the Seven Dwarfs meet and greet around 4:30 p.m. and saw them at 6:15 p.m this year. These kinds of early starts vary but it definitely sounds worth a try if this or another popular character experience is a top priority at the party for you. Side note: We weren’t up for waiting in long lines for special characters but followed the second parade out and saw Mickey had a 10 minute wait at the end of the night! He was in his Christmas best. Precious.
Get in line right before midnight
I love that Disney truly closes when they say they do. I mean if it’s 11:58 p.m. you can still skip over and get in line for Peter Pan’s Flight. Just don’t lose your glass slipper on the way. You can make the most of your time by getting those last minute rides in. (Note this can be different for the special character meet and greets and lines can reach capacity before the end of the party.) Of course the shops on Main Street will be open for your spending enjoyment on the way out after closing time. If you’ll make it until then, enjoy other offerings during party hours and shop on the way out!
