Welcome to my adventures from the Monstrous Summer All Nighter! It’s the official kick-off of the Monstrous Summer at Walt Disney World resort to celebrate the new movie Monsters University. I’ll be pulling 24 hours at Magic Kingdom and beyond, doing some other things in between the 6 am to 6 am day the park is open. Here’s my early start..
Loading on to the ferry for the Disney Parks Blog Meet-Up! I’m excited to be here for the opening of the park. I imagine some Monsters will be there..
Monstrous treats available today. The little Mikes are cakes pops!
I just finished watching Monsters University as part of the Disney Parks Blog Monstrous Meet-up. What an excellent time! Loved the movie and I’ll have a review up in the coming weeks. Thankful to these awesome folks and everyone behind the event.
Also I enrolled in Monsters U. at the Meet-up..
Lunch at Be Our Guest! Best quick service ever.
A special opportunity brought me away from the 24 hour fun at Magic Kingdom. Pat Carroll, the actress who played Ursula, was appearing for a Q&A session at Spooky Empire May-hem. My boyfriend Jim was interviewing her which made it even more special!
This is where my Monstrous All Nighter story ends. When I tried to go back to Magic Kingdom after seeing Pat Carroll the lines were crazy long to park and I took it as a sign not to go back. I knew I wouldn’t do well if there were crazy crowds and from all the pictures my friends sent me – the crowds were crazy. Not in behavior but in mass. All in all it was an excellent day and I’m glad I tapped out when I did. The morning of the 24 hour day was wonderful with no lines for rides and lots of fun with friends. The best thing about this day was the amount of friends that were around the park. You can only hang out with so many people at a time but just to see so many familiar faces around having fun was really nice. Viva la Kingdom!
It looks like you had a bast at the all nighter! I love your MU hat… is that available for purchase somewhere?
Can’t wait to see the movie next month!

It was quite a day to remember. I got the MU hat at Hollywood Studios but I believe you can get it at any park! =)
I was so tempted to visit the Magic Kingdom for this event – I’m sure sorry I didn’t it looked amazing.
I was there! You got a photo of my back walking onto the Ferry early. LOL We didn’t make it a full 24 hours but I felt like I had been up for days. The lack of sleep was totally worth it though. We really enjoyed the movie and the meet up. Wish I would have seen you, I would have said hello! Maybe the next meet up? I need to meet more Disney-loving friends down here. 😀

That’s funny that you’re in the pic! I wish we would have seen each other. I agree it felt like days but was worth it. 24 hours is such a long time and I’m really impressed that people pulled it off especially with the crowds. I hope we are both at the next meet-up so we can.. meet-up. heh heh. 😀
