Gaylord Palms ICE features Frosty the Snowman in 2013
It’s the most wonderful time of the year and one of the coolest things to do in Orlando is back for the season. I went to a sneak peek of the 2013 Gaylord Palms ICE! attraction and consider it a must-do Christmas experience. This freezing, walk-through, ice sculpture exhibit also has ice slides and, for the first time this year, live sculpting artisans.
ICE! has a theme and tells a story with clear and colored ice sculptures. After a few years of DreamWorks characters (love you, Gingy!), a more traditional approach was taken this year with Frosty the Snowman. The jolly, happy soul and his friends look just like they do in the 1969 Rankin/Bass animated feature. This classic Christmas character can be celebrated by all generations, making ICE! an excellent family event.
Parkas are provided, closed toe shoes required and I recommend bringing gloves.

Don’t miss beautiful Christmas decor shopping. On the way out of ICE!, you’ll exit into a gift shop area. I strongly suggest taking a minute to gander. There is ICE! themed merchandise but also a beautiful assortment of Christmas decor and ornaments in all themes and colors. Glitter, glitz, gingerbread, Elf on a Shelf, snowmen, Santa, Jesus and more. This year I got a small light-up nativity scene in a bulb ornament that plays Silent Night. All reasonably priced, too.
