EPCOT’s Candlelight Processional has become an annual holiday tradition for me. It’s a beautiful, musical spectacle that began at Disneyland over fifty years ago. This show is a timeless classic. If you’re new to it, Disney says:
Presented in the America Gardens Theatre at Epcot, Candlelight Processional is one of the most beloved holiday traditions at Walt Disney World Resort. Featuring a joyous retelling of the Christmas story by a celebrity narrator, accompanied by a 50-piece orchestra and a glorious mass choir, this festive performance takes place annually in November and December. Show times are at 5, 6:45 and 8:15 p.m.
The choir’s top voices are actually members of the Voices of Liberty group, a fan favorite in the America pavilion at EPCOT. Candlelight Processional also features school choirs, making a wonderfully eclectic mix of performers. What sets this show apart is the content. A celebratory and solemn scene, telling the story of Jesus. Candlelight Processional is one of the most beautiful things you can see at a Disney Park. This show is quite popular so plan ahead for seating by getting a dining package or getting into the standby line early. You can also read about my favorite Candlelight Processional narrator.
