Frozen 2 Review

Disclosure: I was invited to an advanced screening of this film.

FROZEN 2 Review

Frozen 2 is a fast-paced, icy magic thrill ride filled with wonderfully moving music and hyper relatable themes about one’s calling and moving through life’s changes.

Whew.

My thoughts as I exited the theater were, “All of these people need a raise.” Honestly, it’s hard to write a review about a movie this good. I don’t want to put the bar so high that my readers aren’t impressed. With Frozen 2, there’s just no other way to put it. This movie is incredible in every way.

FROZEN 2

I remember watching “Let It Go” for the first time on the big screen. I felt frozen with emotion. One heavily sequined animated character gave me permission to let the past be just that with a swift song and suave hair flip. With Frozen 2, the music brings just as much inspiration for growth and contemplation. I don’t purchase Disney movie tickets expecting some kind of internal healing to happen in the theater but that was an added bonus here. As we go to see Frozen 2 for a second and third time I know I’ll leave the theater feeling thoroughly entertained and a little lighter. Disney found a way to use storytelling to entertain families and invite thoughts about acceptance and self empowerment through a children’s movie franchise. Challenging yet so welcome in a world that needs more wholesome entertainment with heart and intelligence.

FROZEN 2

With all this mature emotion the film also manages to have audiences laugh loud and often. Olaf became a favorite of mine after the first film and his humor in Olaf’s Frozen Adventure escalated my admiration. I didn’t think it could get any better yet in Frozen 2 the little snowman surprises everyone with just how funny he is. Frozen 2 is memorable, moving and one you’ll want to see in theaters. Perhaps more than once.
