I am beyond thrilled and giddily excited about the new Beautifully Disney cosmetic and beauty product collection coming to Disney Parks! You can read about it on the Disney Parks blog here and here. This line is long awaited after the Fall 2010 MAC Venomous Villains collection and the Cinderella and Jasmine makeup available at Sephora. I’m delighted to see Disney Parks offering their own line of pretty girl products. The collection is said to be colorful, classic and trendy and include selections for lips, eyes and nails as well as matching makeup bags and brushes. *Squeals with delight.*

On Saturday, March 2nd, from 11 a.m to 3 p.m. the line will launch at Downtown Disney on both coasts, Tren-D in Walt Disney World and Disney Vault 28 in Disneyland. Makeup artists (and nail techs in Disneyland only) will be on hand to offer tips and help with color.

If you’re like me you’re daydreaming about a few things.. We’re all dying to know what the packaging will look like! That alone can lead me to purchase makeup from high end retailers as opposed to drugstore counters. One Parks Blog article noted ‘Through character and storytelling on the cosmetic packaging, guests will be able to choose from their favorite films and characters in various moods’ leading my mind to wander. This makes me picture shades inspired by the moods of Tinkerbell – think thimble-wearing Tink in a drawer versus the golden pixie-dusted gal admiring herself in a mirror. OR… what about those wings in the latest Tinkerbell movie Secret of The Wings?! Can you imagine that magical iridescence on your eyelids? What about sweeping Cinderella versus the darling doll at the ball? Or perhaps book reading Belle compared to the glamorous golden gown she waltzes with the Beast in. Again, I’m just daydreaming about colors here and only time will expose what the collections really are. I smiled and felt my wallet tremble in fear when I read that new offerings will be available seasonally.

In the latest article, author Michelle Harker drops the hint that the first collection is ‘rather wicked.’ Evil Queen, anyone? This is exciting but I think many of us are really waiting for those enchanting, Disney Princess hues that will hopefully be a part of the collection at some point. I’m wishing on a star for Cindy blues and Aurora pinks!

This quote from Erin Catalano’s Disney Parks Blog post also got me thinking: “Through the collections of this new and enchanting line, it is the goal to keep guests romanced by the contrast of mysterious yet inviting colors and sparkle to experience modern recreations of our most beloved and treasured Disney characters.” I definitely think the popularity of online makeup tutorials and cosmetic hauls may have influenced all these Disney makeup collections over the last few years. There is an abundance of “how to” Disney princess makeup videos on YouTube. From the everyday look of Cinderella by xSparkage with over 30 million views to the costumey, elaborate, high production value tutorials of CharismaStarTV, online makeup videos have created a subculture with heavy spending habits.

Limited Time Special offer: If you spend $40 on Beautifully Disney nail polish, lip gloss, mini nail polish set and/or the eye shadow palette you can buy a compact for only $10 instead of the usual $16.95 price.
