What’s New at Give Kids The World

Recently I visited Give Kids The World Village for a sweet delivery. The National Confectioners Association convention sent two massive truckloads of candy, sweets and snacks down to the Village thanks to Central Moving & Storage. The generous donations will be used at the weekly Halloween parties and other special events for the children throughout the year. I loved seeing the kids standing at the back of one of the trucks with bags full of treats and eyes full of delight.

On my visit I also got to see a lot of new stuff that has been built at the Village. When I say a lot I mean and entire multi-purpose facility. The new Towne Hall will serve as the main dining location and will accommodate many more families for dinner. Until now the Village has always felt very quaint to me but this new addition feels like a resort. This location will also double as a backup venue for outdoor parties and activities on rainy days. The expansion will help GKTW better serve families and I’m thrilled to see the changes.

Remember that Give Kids The World Village exists on donations alone. Whether you’re a business or an individual, you can contribute in some way to make sure children with life-threatening illnesses continue to visit Orlando for the trip of a lifetime with their families. I’m excited to announce that I’m fundraising for Give Kids The World Village again this year and with my heftiest goal ever. I’m aiming for $2500. It will take a lot of help from a lot of people. Can you make a donation pretty please? Together we can make a difference and continue to dazzle families who really need a chance to make some happy memories with the magic of Disney, Universal and more.

More exciting news.. Gingerbread Run Team!

I’ll be hosting my third Give Kids The World Gingerbread Run team this year! I’d love to have you on the team! The Gingerbread Run 5K is November 14th at Give Kids The World Village in Kissimmee, Florida, just a little ways away from Walt Disney World. You’ll be surprised how easy it is to fundraise online through your personalized website you’re assigned when you join the team. I’ll be here to encourage you along the way and even walk with you on race day! In the past, we’ve all walked together as a team but of course you’re welcome to go at your own pace if you’d like. This year I’ll be dressing up in a sweets outfit inspired by the theme of the race and you’re welcome to join me or wear your regular active attire. Even if you can’t be present on the day of the event you can be a virtual runner and still be part of the team! You’ll fundraise the same way and even get a medal sent to you. Let’s inspire and encourage each other to raise money for Give Kids The World Village and celebrate our accomplishments at the Gingerbread Run.
