Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party Dazzles in 2014

Main Street at Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party 2014

T’was the month before Christmas and all through the Kingdom,
were characters and children and parents who bring them,
to enjoy all the lights, the shows and the sounds,
and celebrate the season we wait for year round.

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is a nighttime, separate ticket event at Magic Kingdom held on select nights in November and December. It really does feel like a Christmas party with festive music playing throughout the park, gorgeous decor and lights and snow to top it all off. Enjoy unlimited hot chocolate and cookies from treat stops around the Kingdom and fall in love with the whimsically composed Holiday Wishes firework show. I love this sky show so much it’s become part of my annual Christmastime soundtrack. Though I do recommend planning ahead to get a good seat for parades, shows or fireworks, you’ll see noticeably lower lines for attractions which is a great perk of the event. Let’s dig into some highlights of the party, shall we?

Celebrate the Season show at Mickey's Very Merry Christmas PartyCelebrate the Season is a must-do at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. With a large dance ensemble, Christmas music and favorite Disney and Christmastime characters, this show will make you all kinds of jolly. Celebrate the Season is a dazzling spectacle show that is performed a few times nightly on the stage in front of Cinderella Castle. Definitely plan to see this!

Is Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party just for kids? No. It’s for anyone who celebrates Christmas from one to ninety-two. Me and my boyfriend had a beautiful date night at the Party and loved every second. We stayed to close the Park and were some of the last guests out. Main Street USA is so delightfully peaceful lit up in holiday fashion with snow falling.

In 2014, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party has some new offerings. Now you can meet Sandy Claws, Jack Skellington in his Santa attire, in the tent area in front of the train station in the Storybook Circus. You’ll also find Scrooge McDuck, Santa Goofy and Minnie, Daisy and Donald in festive attire in the area.

You can also see the happy snowman and Elsa and Anna in the parade. Though he won’t be meeting guests, he’s totally busy these nights, he is absolutely adorable in A Frozen Holiday Wish.

Tip: If you want to see this up close, I recommend going to the second showing.

Elsa at Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party 2014See Elsa and other Frozen characters in Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade twice nightly.

Olaf at Mickey's Very Merry Christmas PartyCatch Olaf in Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade & in the castle lighting show, A Frozen Holiday Wish.

Other highlights include the Toy Soldiers in Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade. They play live instruments and really add to the atmosphere. I get chills! The whole parade is fantastic. You may even want to see it twice when you go. I also loved hearing Christmas music in Fantasyland. The park really transforms. There’s a lot to do but I’m going to remind you to remember what Christmas is all about and encourage you to take a few moments to find peace by the light of the castle or under the snow of Main Street USA.

Tickets start at $67. I recommend planning ahead as the first two parties sold out.
Parties go from 7 p.m. until midnight but guests can enter Magic Kingdom starting at 4 p.m.

These pictures are incredible! I hope I get to go to Disney during the holiday season some year so I can go to this. I seriously cannot get over all the lights!
