Animal Kingdom Harambe Market Review

I’m always looking for something different to eat when I go to Walt Disney world. Disneyland always dazzles me with offerings that vary in price, culture and taste. Over here on the east coast I’ve met my burger and pizza quota twice over. Don’t even get me started on fries. However, Animal Kingdom’s Harambe Market is paving the way for themed, healthy and affordable dining options. The food there is excellent. I’m kind of a picky eater but felt comfortable trying the chicken skewer with a side of broccoli, tomato and onion salad. This meal was perfectly light but tasty and just filling enough for a good lunch on a hot day. This pretty colored drink is Bibo mixed with Sprite as recommended by the cool Cast Member that took our order. I didn’t have the African Milk Tart here but I did try (and love) it at the Animal Kingdom Starbucks. If you enjoy coconut cream pies or just coconut in general, save room for this dessert.Harambe Market Chicken Skewer Animal Kingdom Walt Disney World | SparklyEverAfter.comHarambe Market Chicken Skewer Animal Kingdom Walt Disney World | SparklyEverAfter.com

The design details of Harambe Market are absolutely top notch. Just what you expect to see in a Disney Park. You can really take your time scanning the little touches that have been added to every niche of this outdoor eating area. It feels like a trip to another country. It doesn’t really come as a a surprise either. The rest of Animal Kingdom is lush with greenery, carved with culture and colorfully enchanting.

I’m hoping Disney continues to follow suit on this and creates more unique dining experiences like this. From ordering to eating, you are completely surrounded in the theming of this African area of the park. It’s located near the new Festival of The Lion King show venue and Kilimanjaro Safaris too so the location is great. It looks like it opens around 11 am and closes around 5 or 6 pm. You totally have to fit a trip to Harambe Market on your next Animal Kingdom visit.
